Group Factories Consolidation (Aviation - UK)
Prime Design was engaged by an aircraft components manufacturer to develop plans for a consolidated manufacturing site. Their original supply base was located across multiple sites in the UK which resulted in many undesirable operational inefficiencies. We initially surveyed the original sites and mapped internal manufacturing/assembly processes and required resources. Our team analysed the existing elements and factored in future business objectives in considering an effective facility design. Using lean techniques we developed an effective facility design ensuring operational criteria were met and an efficient work flow created.
